Teach my child that, and you'll be sorry
Mercator.net, July 30, 2010
Sex education for tots is in the headlines. Last month it was a policy in Provincetown, Massachusetts making condoms available to first graders. Student requests were to be kept secret and parents’ objections ignored.
Now the news is from Montana. If the Helena school district has its way, kindergarteners will learn about “reproductive body parts”: the penis, vagina, breast, nipples, testicles, scrotum, and uterus. Ten year olds will be taught that “sexual intercourse includes but is not limited to vaginal, oral, or anal penetration”. Two years later they will discover this may involve “the penis, fingers, tongue or objects”.
Have these people lost their minds? To the contrary. All these maneuvers are entirely consistent with the sex education programs supported by President Obama. Moreover, the administration would like taxpayers to fund their export to the rest of the world.
Attention New Jersey: Christie’s Nominee May Pose A Danger to Your Children
Townhall.com, March 5, 2010
On Monday, NJ governor Chris Christie’s nominee for the Commissioner of the Department of Children and Families will be interviewed by the State Senate Judiciary Committee. If confirmed, Janet Rosenzweig will preside over the Divisions of Youth and Family Services, Child Behavioral Health Services, Prevention and Community Partnerships, Child Welfare Training Academy, Community Services, Office of Education, and Office of Licensing. She will also influence policy making as a member of the cabinet.
Dr Rosenzweig’s impressive resume includes two items that call for careful examination. One is her certification as a sexuality instructor by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (ASSECT). The other is her recent position as acting executive director of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS).
Way to Go, Planned Parenthood
Townhall.com, November 10, 2009
In the battle over sex education, Planned Parenthood claims the high ground in providing accurate information and protecting reproductive health. Their homepage states, “We deliver comprehensive and medically accurate information that empowers women, men, teens, and families to make informed choices and lead healthy lives.”
As a physician who has spent hundreds of hours with young people with sexually transmitted infections, I’m on a one-woman mission to expose the falsehood of those claims. Planned Parenthood’s sexual health education is not comprehensive or medically accurate; to the contrary, this eminent, federally funded organization endangers lives by withholding critical biological truths.
Sex, Lies, and Siecus
Townhall.com, September 15, 2009
I was on the Michael Medved show this week, debating Martha Kempner, the VP of information and education at SIECUS, the Sexual Information and Education Council of the US.
If you’re a parent, you need to know about SIECUS, a powerful organization that has set the standard for sex education in this country for nearly fifty years. Until now, the messages SIECUS provides our kids have not been scrutinized. I thank Mr Medved for giving me the opportunity to expose how this prominent group deceives the public and endangers the health and well-being of our children.

The House of Representatives has approved an addition to the healthcare reform package. It calls for the creation of a “Healthy Teen Initiative”, and allocates $50 million to so-called “comprehensive” sex education.
What Girls Want: An Edward Cullen to Love Them

With the brouhaha over Bristol Palin’s pregnancy, here’s a plus no one’s considered: should this young woman go to college as a married mom, she’ll be spared four years of the campus hook-up culture.

Shocked
Townhall.com, March 17, 2008
The response to the CDC’s report last week that 25% of teen girls carry a sexually transmitted infection suggests that this comes as a shock to many, including some in our sex education industry. This is reminiscent of the scene in Casablanca in which Captain Renault tells Rick that he is “shocked—shocked!—to find that gambling is going on in here”, and then quietly collects his winnings.
Students Suffer When Campuses Are Too PC About Sex
UCLA Today, May 8, 2008
"I wish I had seen it sooner because I could have been spared a lot of pain." So read an e-mail from Sarah, a university student on the East Coast who wrote me from her campus. She was referring to my recent book, "Unprotected: A Campus Psychiatrist Reveals How Political Correctness in Her Profession Endangers Every Student." It describes students I've treated and argues that they are casualties of ideology-driven health care.

S&M, Ivy League Style
FrontPageMagazine.com, December 14, 2007
The scene was Princeton University's annual health fair. One table with sexual health information offered prizes for the winner of a raffle. To participate, a student must pick a question from a fishbowl, and answer it correctly. One young man decided to take a chance. He handed the question to a woman behind the table and waited. "What's BDSM?" she asked. "B.D.S.M?" He shook his head. This hadn't been in his SAT review course. He was stumped. "Bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism," she explained with a smile.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, ladies. Time for pink ribbons, fundraising, mammograms, and that familiar list of lifestyle changes you can make to decrease your risk. I bet most of you can recite it in your sleep: examine yourself monthly, watch your weight, exercise, eat berries, vegetables and fiber. Don’t smoke or drink excessive alcohol. Avoid red meat and fatty foods. Those are the guidelines etched in our brains, women young and old, desperate to dodge the dreaded bullet that will strike one in eight of us. But as you stock up on blueberries and sauerkraut, please know one more thing. The “lifestyle” choice that provides the best protection from this epidemic has nothing to do with diet, cigarettes, or booze.

Misery U: Hook-Up Culture Leaves Casualties
The Arizona Republic, May 4, 2007
Is there anyone left who still needs evidence that the world is upside down? If so, I've got it. Some of our most prestigious universities and health organizations that consider themselves guardians of our children's health and well-being are giving thumbs up to the very behaviors that place our kids at risk for disease.
